Studio KÄ in dialogue with the CNC: exploring financing opportunities for African productions

December 9, 2024

During a visit to the headquarters of the National Center for Cinema and the Animated Image (CNC), Studio KÄ participated in a discussion with Mathieu Fournet on the financial support systems offered by the institution to international producers collaborating with French partners.

This exchange allowed us to discover a variety of aids available for the different stages of production and distribution of a film. These financing mechanisms are accessible according to the nature of the partnerships established or not with French producers, as well as according to the nationality of the project leaders.

The CNC website is a detailed and useful resource for learning about these opportunities. It is an essential reference for audiovisual creators seeking funding.

Many thanks to Mathieu Fournet for his attentive listening and the information shared, which opens up promising perspectives for international collaborations.

Last year, Adja Soro, founder of Studio KÄ, had the honor of participating in the opening conference of the first edition of the International Audiovisual Content Fair (SICA) in Abidjan, alongside the Minister of Communication and the Minister of Culture and Performing Arts of Côte d'Ivoire.

A flagship event for audiovisual professionals in Africa, SICA returns this year for its second edition, which will be held from November 5 to 7, 2024 at the Sofitel Abidjan Hôtel Ivoire. The theme, “Innovation, Diversity and Financing in the Audiovisual Sector: Solutions for a New Era of Content in Africa,” promises enriching discussions and unique opportunities for industry players.

Although Adja Soro is engaged this year in Montreal for the Rencontres de la Coproduction Francophone, Studio KÄ will be represented at SICA by its producer, Hamed Abou Bakr Akpa Sanogoh. He will be available to exchange, explore collaborations and discuss current issues in the audiovisual sector.

We strongly encourage you to participate in this unmissable event. SICA is an ideal platform to network, enrich your knowledge and discuss solutions for the future of the African audiovisual industry. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Studio KÄ explore asian content market at Gwangju

October 20, 2024

Studio KÄ is currently in South Korea to take part in the ACE Gwangju Fair, a major event dedicated to Asian content and entertainment. Taking place over four days, this event offers an ideal platform for establishing professional connections and deepening understanding of the Asian animation market.

On the very first day, enriching exchanges took place with companies specializing in virtual reality gaming, animation and webtoons, as well as with national festival organizers. Contrary to preconceived ideas about the closed nature of the Asian market, the professionals we met were particularly open and receptive.

The show also represents a unique opportunity to explore potential synergies between the Asian and African creative industries. With immense potential for collaboration between the two continents, the Studio KÄ team is eager to seize these new opportunities and lay the foundations for future partnerships.

As the event continues, Studio KÄ remains committed to this exploratory approach, determined to maximize the connections and opportunities offered by the Gwangju Content Fair. A promising first day that sets the tone for the rest of this rewarding professional experience.
